Every December 2nd the United Arab Emirates (UAE) celebrates its nationalism with an event called UAE National Day. This year Emirati citizens and diplomats attended events hosted by UAE Embassies worldwide. The following provides a few notable celebrations across the globe:
In Washington, DC, UAE Ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al Otaiba, hosted a special celebration event gala. The location of the event, Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, was a perfect fit for the celebration as the event also honored the UAE’s newly announced Mars mission.
In Geneva, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, along with other international organizations based in Geneva, hosted a special reception to celebrate the UAE and its National Day.
In Algeria, Ambassador to Algeria, Ahmed Al Nasser Al Mil along with Ambassador to Sudan, Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi hosted a special showcase to share the UAE’s achievements and successes.
In New Delhi, the charge d’affaires of the UAE Embassy of India, Saed Mohammed Saed Al Muhairi hosted a special reception.
In Manama, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdul Reda Abdullah Al Khouri hosted a special reception. The event was attended by top Bahrain official and guests, such as Bahrain’s prime minister, Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and special adviser to the prime minister Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
In Japan, Ambassador to Jordan, Bilal Rabia Al Badour also held a special tribute the UAE’s founders and leadership at an event in Amman.
In Morocco, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Al Asri Saeed Al Dhahiri spoke highly about the UAE leaders who were instrumental at the creation of the nation. These leaders and their sacrifices reflect the nation’s focus on solidarity and cohesion.
In Australia, Ambassador Dr. Obaid Al Hairi Salem Al Ketbi hosted a reception, which was attended by Emirati students studying abroad in Australia, the Governor-General of Australia Sir Peter John Cosgrove, his wife as well as other senior Australian officials and diplomats.
Other National Day events were also held in Bangladesh, New Zealand, Spain, Ethiopia, Thailand, Egypt, Vietnam, South Korea, China, Czech Republic, Belarus, Malaysia, Brazil, and Qatar.
